Moorpark Apricot

The Moorpark Apricot bears flavorful, large sized fruit. Also called the Wenatchee Apricot, it has a light yellow skin and flesh. This apricot is well known for being a good annual producer. The fruit is excellent for fresh eating and is also widely used for drying and home canning. The blossoms of a Moorpark apricot tree can be damaged by late frosts. Plant on the southern exposure of a house or other building for added frost protection. Best production is in well-drained, moderately fertile soils. The fruits should be thinned early in the season for improved size and quality.
