The Stella cherry tree is similar to its parent tree, the Lambert cherry. Stella is one of the few self-fertile sweet cherry trees, and will begin to bear fruit at a young age. The large, richly flavored sweet cherries are nearly black in color. This is an excellent cherry for eating fresh, and is more resistant to cracking than Bing. The Stella cherry will pollinate a Bing cherry tree, except in mild winter climates.
